Day 22 of 40 day fast

About this time in fasting I start playing little math games on the time left, making it seem like a short while until it is done. My flesh starts to get a bit weaker and looking at recipes for Thanksgiving probably doesn’t help. There’s this little glimmer at the end of the tunnel...

I’m thinking a good session of worship would be the great thing for this morning to get re-focused.

The moment God breathed into him, Adam was a human being. The moment the sperm and the egg join at conception a human being is formed, alive, multiplying, growing - being made into God’s image. The womb, an ever expanding sanctuary to accommodate growth, is supposed to be the safest place on earth for God’s creative miracle. Recently scientists have found that under the microscopic image of one cell, the protein molecule called laminin (the ‘glue’ of the human body, holding the body together, like steel in concrete), has the shape of the cross on it (louie Giglio) surely this is God’s stamp on His creation. “Jesus is before all things and in Him all things hold together.” Col 1:7

“The NZ Royal Commission studied the matter of what is growing in the mother’s womb: is it human life and does such life have any value? In their 1977 report (that led up to the passing of the Contraception, Sterilization and Abortion Bill) they agreed that: ‘From a biological point of view there is no argument as to when life begins. Evidence was given to us, by eminent scientists from all over the world. None of them suggested that human life begins at any other time than at conception.’ The real argument has not been about the biological facts. It has been about the value society accords to children in the months before birth. An understanding of conflicting value systems helps to lay the foundation for an understanding of the controversy that surrounds the abortion issue.” (www.life.org Marilyn Pryor)

Pray for an enormous ground swell of change to begin; of alignment with God’s Word, His value system, of belief in when life begins and therefore of the value we in NZ need to place on the unborn from day one, for life not death.
