Day 23 of 40 day fast

I was at Cleansing Stream retreat this weekend. Not much sleep, but heaps of people set free!! Yay God!!

This week please pray daily for the upcoming elections.
*Pray for it to be made known clearly who the pro-life candidates are.
*Pray for Christians to vote, that they’d ask God to guide their voting.
*Pray for God to direct the voting of NZers so that many pro-life MPs will be elected, those with wisdom, who will hold true to their beliefs, who will not be swayed by the vocal, liberal, minority.
*Pray changes will be made in Parliament to tighten up the abortion laws; for Gordon Copeland’s private member’s bill re abortion.
*Pray laws will be passed that protect and respect life at every stage.

Step 7: (6 days) Other beginnings

Satan is still at work as he was in Genesis 3.
“The great deceiver clothed himself as a serpent, one of God’s good creatures. He insinuated a falsehood and portrayed rebellion as clever, but essentially innocent, self interest. (same ploy he has used for abortion!) The Hebrew words for ‘crafty’ and ‘naked’ are almost identical. Though naked, the man and his wife felt no shame. The craftiness of the serpent led them to sin; they then became ashamed of their nakedness.” “They sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.” (NIV note Gen 3:1,7)

Let’s pray together:

Lord we confess that we in NZ have allowed satan to deceive us concerning this issue of abortion. He has “beguiled, cheated, outwitted and deceived” (Gen 3:13 AMP) us so that we have eaten from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and this has put further enmity between us and God. We confess that we have become wise in our own eyes and embraced the lies of satan and this has alienated us from You. You have been right to banish us from Your holy presence. We have used all sorts of ‘fig leaves’ (reasons, excuses) to cover up our ungodly decisions and actions concerning abortion. This has been a feeble and futile attempt to cover our shame. Only You Lord can cover us.

We acknowledge that women have been living under a curse with increased pain in childbearing b/c of our rebellion and self-interest. We acknowledge that even the ground has been cursed and there has been much painful toil. Lord we are sorry for these sins.

Thank You for Jesus, Your promised Offspring that bruised and trod satan’s head under His feet. (spend time worshipping Jesus)

Today we rip off and rip up all ‘fig leaves’ and uncover our nations’ sin and shame of abortion so that this will be dealt with once and for all time. We cry out to You Lord to once again allow us access to the Tree of Life and all that means to the unborn of our nation, our offspring.

Today we ask that You cover us and our nation with Your glory as You covered Adam and Eve in the beginning.
