Day 13 of 40 day fast

The Abortion Supervisory Committee
Pray for this committee and their responsible role in the abortion industry; that they would see it as a God-given role and therefore they are responsible to Him as well as to Parliament. Pray for wisdom.

Prov 1:1-7
The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; to know wisdom and instruction, to perceive the words of understanding, to receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment, and equity; to give prudence to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion - a wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, to understand a proverb and an enigma, the words of the wise and their riddles. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Prov 2:1-15
My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice and preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perversity of the wicked; whose ways are crooked and who are devious in their paths.

The members of the Abortion Supervisory Committee are appointed by Parliament. There are 3 members; 2 are to be registered medical practitioners. The current members were appointed 14 June, ‘07. They are:
                Professor Linda Holloway (chair) Dunedin
                Dr Rosemary Fenwicke of Wellington
                Patricia Allen (Christchurch)

They furnish an annual report to Parliament, a summary of the committee’s activities during the year, together with statistical information relating tot he number of abortions performed during the previous calendar year.

Please pray for these women, pray for Godly wisdom, salvation in their lives, compassion for the aborted babies, to use their power to effect justice for these babies. Pray that they would receive the word of the Lord to advise them in their responsibilities.
