“There are moments in history when a door for massive change opens, and great revolutions, for food or evil, spring up in the vacuum created by these openings. In these divine moments, key men and women and even entire generations risk everything to become the hinge of history - the pivotal point that determines which way the door will spring.
The rebellious generation of the 60’s seized its moment, and history crashed into the deep abyss of drug addiction, sexual immorality, hatred for authority, and a rejection of the law of God. 1967 was a culminating and defining moment in that rebellion. in 1967, 100,000 young people, aged 15-25 flocked to San Francisco to experience the hippie movement, sparked by the hit song ‘Wear a Flower in Your Hair’. Once there, they experimented with LSD, pot, casual sex and Eastern mysticism in what became known as the ‘Summer of Love’.
When these newly recruited Flower Children returned home at the end of the summer, they brought with them new styles and ideas, flooding the cities of the USA and Europe (and NZ) with a message that opposed authority and scorned conservative morals. This counterculture rebellion was fuelled by music and art, and it rapidly shifted culture. For the last 40 years we have been falling headlong into a black moral morass. We are reaping the waves of destruction in every sector of our post Christian society. Unless a massive spiritual shift occurs our children will live under an antichrist system and godless enculturation that will bring about the demise of America, as we know it”. Lou Engle.
Let’s pray together: Lord we confess that our nation became caught up in the rebellion of the 1960’s and man of us lived by its messages and experienced the consequences and effects of that. We acknowledge that the push for legalising abortion came as a result of the sexual experimentation that became more prolific from that time. Our nation has been sinking deeper and deeper into a pit of rebellion, drug use, unwanted pregnancies, casual relationships and abortion.
“We put You to the test and rebelled against You, the Most High and did not keep Your statutes; we angered You”. (Ps 78:56,58) “You forgive wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet You punish the children and their children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation.” (Ex 34:7)
As we see the children of this nation increasingly living godless lives, and the abortion rate creeping higher and higher, we are becoming more desperate for Your intervention.
Lord we are sorry for these sins. “Although we have been a stiff necked people, forgive our wickedness and our sin, and take us, especially our children, as Your inheritance.” (Ex 34:9) Once again shape and mould our nation within the framework of the Judaeo-Christian ethic with the 10 Commandments as solid pillars for NZ.
What My Dad Would Think

In January of this year, I drove our van into the driveway, slipped it into
park, and burst into tears. They weren’t the silent tears that pool at the
corn...
