Day 35 of 40 day fast

I woke up this morning with these thoughts...we are guilty of the abortions in this land. Even if we have not had an abortion or no one from our family has had an abortion, we are guilty of toleration of abortion in NZ. We deserve the punishment and discipline of God. God, we ask for your mercy! We repent of this sin, we renounce its hold on our lives and our country. We break any ties with the spirit of death that causes abortions to happen. We deserve discipline; give us mercy b/c You are a merciful God! Amen.

*Babies and Pre-schoolers:
Over the years cot deaths, unexplained deaths of healthy babies at, or soon after, birth, child abuse, deaths of pre-schoolers through abuse, and child cancer have all increased.

The innocence of childhood has been aborted.

*Abuse during pregnancy:
“University of Auckland researchers interviewed 3,000 women aged 18-64 about their experiences of violence and found 10% had been physically abused during pregnancy: that is one in 10 were punched, kicked or physically abused.” (Times 14.08.08)

“The govt spent $800,000 in ‘07 to investigate sexual violence after the Treasury calculated it costs the country more than $1 billion a year.” (Times 8.9.07)

*Dairy Cows:
The president of the Dairy Vets Association, a Christian from Te Awamutu, said there had been a gradual increase over the last 25 years of cows not conceiving, and of the fertilised egg not attaching to the uterus and being ‘aborted’ 8-40 days later.

*Population:
The birth rate in NZ is barely at replacement level. We have trouble maintaining the numbers needed in the work force. Therefore, we encourage immigration. Many who come are Muslims, Hindus, or Buddhists. Muslims in particular have large families, are zealous about their faith, and have an agenda concerning Islam.

*Read and pray the book of Joel in the context of abortion.
“What the crawling locust left, the swarming locust has eaten; and what the swarming locust left, the hopping locust has eaten; and what the hopping locust left, the stripping locust has eaten. And I will restore or replace for you the years the locust has eaten - the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and the crawling locust.” (Joel 1:4, 2:25 Amp)
